High School Transitional Program
Students who are preparing to graduate within one year or
less can participate in one of Chandler-Gilbert Arc's programs
while still attending high school. This allows for a smoother
transition into adult life. School personnel, parents, family
members, support coordinators, and Chandler-Gilbert Arc personnel
can meet and discuss program possibilities. Area school districts
that participate are Chandler
Unified, Gilbert High, Queen Creek, Dobson High and Tempe
Schools.
Summer Program
Chandler-Gilbert Arc's Summer Program for Students with Developmental Disabilities serves students between 7 and 21 years old during regular summer break from school. Our Summer Program, which normally runs for 5 weeks in June and July, emphasizes independent functioning to the fullest extent possible, providing interesting and fun activities enhanced by practical learning opportunities. Trained staff assist and guide the student's development in personal, social, living, and recreational skills. Individualized attention is given in a structured, supportive environment. Students work with their support person in planning a variety of educational and recreational activities in and around the local community.
