Chandler-Gilbert Arc's Program Support Department operates in a fully supportive capacity to all agency departments. One of the primary functions of the department is to provide a full pre-service training curriculum to all new employees. The purpose of this training is to provide an overview to the field of developmental disabilities and contemporary practices in working with the people we serve in accordance with national trends and agency/Arizona state standards. The department also provides research and specialized staff training in a number of topic areas to enhance management and technical skills for employees.
In addition, the Program Support Department provides oversight, coordination, and technical assistance in the development of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) for each person served by CGArc. Program Services personnel are directly involved with the development of teaching strategies to assist the people we serve in achieving their goals, as well as development of specialized strategies to assist persons with behavioral support needs.
